The Cotswold Line Promotion Group is arranging a party visit to the Severn Valley Railway on Thursday 22nd May 2008.

The plan is for two groups:

Party 2 will travel from stations Hereford to Worcester Foregate Street, inclusive, on the London Midland train which leaves Hereford at 0950, arriving at Droitwich Spa at 1040.  Here passengers would wait for the 1055 departure and join up with the Oxford party. Inclusive fare £16.00.

The party will then travel on the 1200 steam train from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth (arrive 1310). The afternoon is then be free to explore this historic town before returning on the 1535 to Kidderminster (arrive 1645).  It will be possible for those wishing to visit the new "Engine House" to alight from the 1200 train at Highley (1240) and follow on to Bridgnorth at 1429.  Admission charge £2.00 (£1.50 Senior Citizens) on production of SVR ticket.

At Kidderminster, there will be about an hour before our 1754 train back to Worcester Foregate Street.  The Kidderminster Railway Museum will be open during this period, and light refreshments are available from its cafe.

At Worcester Foregate Street, the Hereford party will catch the 1844 London Midland train back to their originating stations.  The Oxford party will depart on the 1850 First Great Western train.

The Cotswold Line Promotion Group will donate the profits from this venture to the Severn Valley Railway's Flood Damage Appeal.

This is primarily an event for CLPG members and further details, including how to book, appear on page 13 of the Spring Newsletter published on 7th April.

The party will be limited to a maximum of 75 persons (50 for Party 1 and 25 for Party 2).  Once bookings commence, the number of places remaining will appear on this page on a daily basis.
