COTSWOLD LINE SERVICES SERIOUSLY DISRUPTED.

Due to a seized axle on a freight train between Oxford and Wolvercot Junction, services on the Cotswold Line were seriously disrupted on Monday 5th November 2007.

The trains affected were:
1551 Paddington to Worcester SH - CANCELLED between Oxford and Worcester.
1722 Paddington to Hereford - Diverted via Swindon and Cheltenham.
1727 Oxford to Great Malvern - CANCELLED.
1752 Paddington to Worcester SH - CANCELLED between Oxford and Worcester.
1815 Worcester SH to Paddington - CANCELLED between Worcester and Oxford.
1822 Paddington to Hereford - Diverted via Swindon and Cheltenham.
1941 Great Malvern to Oxford - CANCELLED.
2056 Worcester SH to Paddington - CANCELLED between Worcester and Oxford.

Road transport was arranged for stranded passengers.  On the diverted 1722 and 1822 trains from Paddington, passengers for Hanborough and Charlbury were directed to get off at Didcot, Kingham, Moreton and  Evesham told to go to Swindon, and a good fleet of taxis was there, and Pershore and Worcester stayed on the train as far as Cheltenham.
