ENGINEERING WORK DURING 2010 and 2011.

The Cotswold Line Promotion Group has been advised by First Great Western and Network Rail of the following work being undertaken between Oxford and Worcester during 2010 and 2011. This is partly due to routine maintenance but mainly as part of the programme for reinstatement of double track.

Saturday and Sunday 2nd and 3rd October 2010.

Bus replacement between Worcester Shrub Hill and Moreton-in-Marsh for bridge work in Evesham and Honeybourne and track work at Littleton and Badsey

Saturday and Sunday 9th and 10th October 2010.

Bus replacement between Worcester Shrub Hill and Moreton-in-Marsh for track work at Mickleton.

Monday-Thursday 15th-18th November 2010.

The 21.48 Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill and 21.51 Hereford to Paddington will terminate respectively at Oxford and Worcester SH with bus replacement onwards.

Midweek Nights 13th December 2010 to 20th May 2011 (except Monday 27th December until Friday 31st December 2010 and Monday 3rd January 2011).

The 20.20 Paddington to Great Malvern and the 21.48 Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill will terminate at Oxford with road transport onwards.
The 21.00 Worcester Foregate Street to Paddington and the 21.51 Hereford to Paddington will be replaced by road transport between Worcester and Oxford.
This is to allow track relaying between Evesham and Moreton-in-Marsh and between Ascott-under-Wychwood and Charlbury to progress at a rate of about one mile per week.   At the same time station platform and signalling work will be undertaken.

Saturday 28th May to Sunday 5th June 2011.

Road transport between Oxford and Kingham or Moreton-in-Marsh.
This is to install signalling at Charlbury, slew track and install new level crossing at Ascott-under-Wychwood.

Monday 6th June 2011.

Double track comes into use between Charlbury and Ascott-under-Wychwood involving new platforms at these two stations.

Saturday 6th August to Sunday 21st August 2011.

Road transport between Worcester and Moreton-in-Marsh or Kingham.
This is to allow final track connection, commission level crossings, remove token systems and install signalling.

Monday 22nd August 2011.

Double track comes into use between Moreton-in-Marsh and Evesham involving new platform at Honeybourne.

Further work may be confirmed at a later date and the above arrangements may be subject to alteration.
